Welcome to 4th grade! My name is Mrs. Lora L. Wilson-Carter. I am married to Dale Carter, a retired Fredonia High School teacher. He currently farms and ranches. We live on a farm just a mile east of Fredonia, on Highway 47. I have lived in Fredonia since 1982, coming to Kansas from Southern California by way of Adak, Alaska. I love my adopted state and believe it to be one of the best places to live.
My husband and I have six children and ten (soon to be twelve!) grandchildren. Family, faith, and school are the biggest and most important parts of our lives.
This summer has been a busy one for me! On May 25, 2012, we were blessed with the birth of our twin grandchildren, Kyrion and Kaleesi Denham. They are so cute! I spent most of my summer up in Lawrence, Kansas, helping take care of them and their brothers, Isaiah and Sabian, and sister, Jaevyn. So, it was a busy summer! I hope you have tales to tell of your summer, as I do.
This is my 7th year teaching 4th grade, but my 14th year teaching at Altoona Midway Schools. I taught special education, then moved to 4th grade. I hope you are as excited about 4th grade as I am. I also hope you know how happy I am that you are in my class this year. We will have an incredible adventure. Remember: Be your best; do your best!
